AN AFTERNOON WITH SOCRATES

Record / Brazil, Salani / Italy, Kleindarithmos Publishing / Greece, 2022

An Afternoon With Socrates" merges the depth of Socratic philosophy with the narrative allure of Paulo Coelho's "The Pilgrimage," offering readers a unique journey of self-discovery set in the picturesque ruins of ancient Greece. This work, both amusing and profound, encourages readers to delve into the questions of life, love, and identity, echoing Socrates' belief that the answers lie within us.

Through an imaginative encounter with Socrates and his student Plato, the protagonist, Haris, and by extension, the readers, are invited to ponder the essence of contentment and the art of living, making this novel a guide to finding personal truth and clarity.

The story, inspired by the author's transformative experience amidst personal loss, is a fictional exploration that feels remarkably real and timely. As Haris stumbles upon a philosophical discussion led by Socrates, the narrative weaves through themes of self-love, interpersonal relationships, and the pursuit of peace, urging readers to engage in introspective dialogue.

This blend of historical richness and philosophical inquiry, set against the backdrop of Ancient Athens, not only revives iconic figures with humanity and warmth but also positions "An Afternoon With Socrates" as a compelling invitation to reflect on our existence and the choices that define us.
