Scribe signs Guinea refugee's tale
Henry Rosenblum and Marika Webb-Pullman at Scribe have signed Little Brother, the story of Ibrahima Balde, a refugee from Guinea living in a homeless shelter in Spain. The book is written with Amets Arzallus Antia, and will be translated by acclaimed playwright Timberlake Wertenbaker.
Scribe has UK and Commonwealth rights through Barbara Zitwer on behalf of Bernat Fiol-Salmaia Lit.Feltrinelli in Italy and Blackie Books (world Spanish and Catalan) both signed the book in pre-emptive deals.
Little Brother tells the story of a young boy who does everything to save his sisters and mother, and to search for his younger brother, who died on a capsized raft trying to get to a better life.
